Yaletown may have been branded as ‘The city most likely to Succeed’ neighborhood in BC, but Kitsilano is a serious competitor for ‘The most popular neighborhood’. Kits, as it is fondly referred to by locals, boasts fantastic beaches and an upbeat, West Coast vibe.. You may not be a resident here, but every once in a while, you will find yourself either at Kits Beach, Kits Pool or museums in Vanier Park. The neighborhood is simply alluring, if not irresistible.

Although most Kits homes are detached single family homes, the vast majority of dwellings are apartments. If anything, they account to 89% of the total dwelling. Most of them include low rise condos, apartment buildings and apartment suits within larger houses. Duplexes and townhomes are also common.

Like in most big cities, the costs for renting an apartment in Kitsilano vary depending on location, class of the apartment, and whether or not one wants a view. For instance, waterfront apartments are costly while basement suites without views are affordable. Renting in Kits is cheaper than renting in downtown. A nice 1 bedroom bachelor suit costs about $800 to $2,000 a month while a $2 bedroom apartment costs $1,200 to $2,500 a month. Large 3 or 4 bedroom apartments cost $1800 to $3,000 or even more monthly.

Outgoing people may have an easy time here as all Kits residents seem to love outdoor activities. Whether it is the neighborhood’s tradition of eco awareness or just enjoying hiking, biking and walking, the locals make the experience worth remembering. Kits is also ideal for young families with school attending children.
