The layout and design of Bayview Village has been heavily influenced by the East Don Valley Parklands. The neighborhood’s designer, Dr. E.G Faludi, understood and recognized the integral role that East Don Valley Parklands played. In his words, they would not fit the landscape into the community but the community into the landscape.
There continues to be a significant growth in the development of high rise condos and apartments in the neighborhood. Shepherd Avenue and some areas south of Highway 401 offer several apartments and condos. The areas offer a different taste to half a century low rise architecture that Bayview Village is known for across Ontario. There are also a few old developments that have had to undergo intense remodeling or renovation, to suit what most new developments have to offer. In a nutshell, most Bayview Village homes are Georgian Revival, split level and bungalow homes.
